  • Mr. Chinn has provided HAZWOPER training and HAZWOPER Train-the-Trainer training since 1992.  He has personally trained 1000+ persons from the Federal government to private sector.  Mr. Chinn is a Certified Environmental Trainer® in Occupational Safety & Health and is an authority on HAZWOPER Training.

• Training Credentials

  • Mr. Chinn has, possibly, a unique background in that he has experience providing instruction and training at each of the following adult levels:

    • Continuing Education.  Mr. Chinn has instructed > 2000 participants in career training programs, including training trainers.

    • University.  First as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and later as an Instructor at the University of Tampa.

    • Community College.  Adjunct Instructor, Hillsborough Community College.

    • Technical School.  As founder, director, owner and instructor, of the Environmental Technology Center, a state-licensed and accredited technical school, I developed all curriculum, oversaw and evaluated instruction by faculty, and was fully accountable for the learning.  Students ranged from college graduates to those who had not received a GED.

  • Mr. Chinn provides Train-the-trainer training to those persons seeking to become environmental trainers, particularly in hazardous waste operations and emergency response.

  • As a Certified Environmental Trainer®, Mr. Chinn exceeds OSHA's required credentials for Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response Training. Mr. Chinn has provided HAZWOPER training for 1000+ professionals, technicians and laborers.

This is how it works

1. Register for course through our secure on-line . You will be asked specific questions about your job responsibilities, personal protective and sampling equipment used. If you have taken our refresher previously or work with someone who has, you will take exam 2, instead of exam 1.  You will only take one exam.

2. Complete the on-line course.

3. Email and call (toll-free) and speak to a Certified Environmental Trainer®.

4. Record and document specific tasks pertinent to your job responsibilities as necessary.

5. We will review your test score and contact you via email regarding your scores.  We will address any missed questions and discuss the best answers.

6. You will be sent a full-sized certificate (suitable for framing).   A wallet-sized certificate is available upon request.

Note: Online HAZWOPER training is not for all workers. If, in the opinion of the Certified Environmental Trainer® reviewing your registration whose decision is final, your work responsibilities deem you unsuitable for our Online HAZWOPER Refresher training, you will be notified immediately.

HAZWOPER Train-the-Trainer Training

  HAZWOPER Train-the-Trainer Training - Live Training or Virtual Classroom Training 

Our renowned course provides training to become a HAZWOPER Trainer. Now offered through our Live Virtual Classroom and real classroom.

Here is how it works:

1. You need a computer with a webcam and microphone and, preferably, a videocamera or camera that can save up to 30minutes of video.  We recommend the RCA Small Wonder.

2. You log onto our virtual classroom via Adobe Connect Pro.

3. You attend class!

On the screen, the instructor and all the participants can see and hear each other. The instructor, Richard Chinn, CET, discusses the protocols for HAZWOPER instruction and all the participants can see his desktop with the Powerpoint Display.

Later, participants give training presentations that they record and either play directly onto the shared desktop or upload to a secure webpage.
